While there is no clear answer to this, usually the answer is yes.. whether a drastic temperature change occurs, you slam your door too hard, or you hit a bump in the road most rock chips will spread and you will instantly double the cost of the repair (with me) or x3, x4, or x5 the cost if you are using somebody trying to sell you a windshield replacement.
